Taiping Zoo

Two weekends ago we decided to go on another "close by" adventure around Penang. This time we drove 1.5 hours to the Taiping Zoo. We had a late start but we made it with enough time to walk around a bit before Emily's nap time and had a great time.

The zoo was small but had quite a few animals. We decided to start by taking a little bus that goes around the whole zoo and take a sneak peak to then go watch them closely on foot. We saw monkeys galore, every kind and every size, which was great since Emily couldn't get enough of them, she loves them! Her favorite was when she got to see a chimpanzee and a gorilla swinging on a rope. She thought it was the funniest thing and wanted to stay there all day. They also had a Malaysian tiger, Arves' favorite, who was playing around and decided to go for a swim while we were there.

Towards the end of our trip it started to sprinkle a bit, which happens every day, and I got to see my favorite animal of the day. A orangutan, who I'm sure has some Dominican blood in her, grabbed this giant leaf and got on the top of a stump to enjoy the rain using the giant leaf as an umbrella.

Adventures have been a bit hard to plan when we have to work around a mid day nap but we're getting better at it and so far have been able to explore a new place every weekend.

Although she has a bit of a dirty face, I couldn't stop sharing this sweet little look. This girl has us both wrapped around her little finger. We couldn't be more blessed to have her in our lives.
